Come and join us as we celebrate our 30th year serving the community of Orillia and surrounding area. We invite all former and current students of our daycare to come for a fun filled evening on Thursday, October 22nd, 2015 starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be music and dance, food, fun and frivolity. Of course there will be cake too! Free chili, cooked and simmered to perfection and served with a fresh bun, is being catered by Ciao, Chow, Ciao of Orillia. The infamous Mariposa Market will be providing our cake.
Another exciting event happening in our Preschool room is the implementation of the Seeds of Empathy program starting in October 2015.
Seeds of Empathy is designed for Early Childhood settings to foster social and emotional competence and early literacy skills and attitudes in children three to five years of age while providing professional development for their educators.
Seeds of Empathy is unique in that it powerfully engages children experientially through a community family – an infant and parent, building on the attachment relationship demonstrated between the two.
Watch for updates monthly……
We have now introduced a new program for documenting your child’s day called HiMama. Parents receive their child’s daily reports on their computer, tablet or smartphone. These reports include pictures of your child’s day, food consumed, nap times and what developments your child is making through his/her play.
This application is available for Android and Apple products as a free download, so check out this amazing program at himama.com.
We are now back in our school, rooms have been painted and spring cleaning done. The children are looking forward to the spring thaw and riding their tricycles instead of sleds.
